Hey it’s Tony fro LearnAutoBodyAndPaint. Today’s topic is all aboutPOOR Car Paint Jobs on Tesla Model 3 Cars Reported!
Is Tesla dropping the ball on paint jobs? Here’s an article about Tesla workers saying that factory paint shop had multiple fires, causing more problems than Tesla let on.
Check this out There’s so much news about poor quality paint jobs. This one here is factory finish. It looks like biting in this area.
Maybe they just repaired it and returned it to the customer without really checking. But that’s just a guess, we really don’t know.
Here’s another where a Tesla customer received his brand new car. You can basically see that there’s not just enough paint on it. It just wasn’t covered well.
You can see that there’s not enough base coat on along the hood line. Remember, this is a brand new car. Watch the video as I show you the pictures.
You can see now in this picture that there’s not enough base coat on the car. It’s pretty crazy. Elon Musk said that they have a bottle neck with these paint jobs on their Model 3 cars. Maybe they have a separate factory for these Model 3 cars.
Now check out this picture of the blue car. This dent costs $7000 to repair and paint. That’s pretty ridiculous.
Sharing with you the estimated quote on the costs of repair. Check it out. More than $6700 to repair because they say that it is candy colored paint and would take a lot more to blend and restore. But that is still a lot of money for that small dent.
Here is another image of a bad paint job. This is factory finish and it looks like they are using candy paint on a red. You can see a drip on the edge and tried to sand and buff it out.
It seems that there were parts where it hasn’t been finished and areas that were sanded off but not repainted. It’s pretty crazy.
In this video, you can see the orange peel on the car. It looks like they tried water sanding it and buffing it down. Not a good job. It didn’t turn out well.
I just wanted to share this with you on Tesla Paint Jobs. I read a lot of complaints and not just on a few cars. To Tesla, you need to work on your auto body control especially your paint jobs.
