We are giving away the GunBudd Ultra Lighting System today! This awesome lighting system is super helpful especially when you don’t have sufficient lighting in your garage.
Question: I need the Gunbudd Ultra Lighting System because it helps me paint at night. Is it okay to paint at night? Should I also be worried about properly curing overnight?
It’s fine but you just need to be careful that it isn’t the termite season or make sure that you are not in an area where there are a lot of bugs that get attracted to the light.
As for proper curing overnight, you also need to make sure that you are painting in the 70-degree temperature range. Don’t paint in the 40-50 degree temperatures because you’ll need to heat up your shop. The lowest temperature is 65 degrees.
You need to also use a medium reducer and don’t go too fast or too slow.
Question: I’m painting Harley Road Glide with fairing bags where there are plastics and I’m doing a color change. Is it safe to scuff with a red scotch bright and then hit it with sealer before paint?
You can scuff it with a red scotch bright if it’s painted with clear coat. Then wash it lightly with 400-grit. You can then put base coat clear coat right after. It won’t hurt if you put a sealer on it. You don’t need to put an adhesion promote unless it’s raw plastic.
