The Ideal Temperature To Paint A Car: Auto Body Q&A 🌤️

Did you enjoy the video? Check out the LABAP VIP course that will help turn you into an auto body and paint pro, from home!

Hi, it’s Tony B. Richie with another auto body Q&A session. Today’s focus is The Ideal Temperature To Paint A Car.

I’m sorry about the connection issues we encountered during the first part of the session. 😓

Let’s proceed with the auto body questions:

Question: Is Atom X20 LVLP suitable For metallic paint dark green?

Yes, absolutely. The Atom Spray Guns are great for overall car painting. If you want to check out the Atom Spray Guns, head on over to Zoolaa. This comes with a free GunBudd Ultra Lighting System that is perfect for low lighting issues in your garage.

Question: Is it better to have too much compound or too little?

It is better to have more than too little because you’ll just burn up your paint with too little compound. You just need a couple of lines or dots, then put it on your pad and get it on evenly.

Question: After I sand down a dent, is the paint the next thing?

You need to shape it down with body filler, prime and sand it. We have everything in the LearnAutoBodyAndPaint VIP Program. It has over 100 hours of training videos, e-reads and bonuses that will show you everything to get pro finishes on your car projects.

If you are a total newbie, I highly recommend that you download the FREE 85-Page Auto Body And Paint Manual to get started.

The manual alone is very interactive with links to our blogs on LearnAutoBodyAndPaint. These are FREE resources that will help you start cranking on your custom projects.

Question: What is the max temperature that we can paint the car in a home garage?

The maximum heat is 100-105 degrees, but you will be sweating like crazy. 100 degrees is borderline and 105 degrees is pushing it but it can be done. However, you need to have good ventilation with slow reducer and slow hardener because that stuff will set up quick.

Let me explain a bit more about LVLP or Low Volume Low Pressure Spray Guns. These guns are good all-around guns. You can spray base coat clear coat and single-stage paints with it.

Again for great LVLP Spray Guns, I’d recommend the Atom X20 or the Atom X27 Spray Guns on Zoolaa.

Question: Is Evercoat Feather Fill G2 primer any good and can I reduce it with paint thinner?

You can reduce anything with paint thinner but I wouldn’t reduce clear coat with it. I’ve reduced base coat with paint thinner back in the day when I ran out of reducer.

Question: How much time can we keep the car in 2k primer especially in hot weather? I am worried about the Bondo cracking if I keep the car for a long period of time before painting.

That is not going to happen. You can keep your 2K primer in hot weather for as long as you want.

E-Com Domination

I won’t stay too long as I still have to to work on the E-Com Domination. We are still accepting registrations for the training, so if you want to be the boss of your own business right in the comforts of your own home, start your e-commerce business now. 👍👍👍
